+ THYROID CARE

Energy + Physical Changes

Fatigue, low energy, reduced stamina, changes in strength, poor recovery after exercise, unexplained weight gain, or difficulty losing weight.

Could Hormones or Thyroid Function Be Affecting How You Feel?

Sometimes the first sign that something has changed isn’t a diagnosis. It’s simply realizing that you don’t feel like yourself. Hormones and thyroid function can affect many different systems in the body, which means symptoms may show up in ways that don’t immediately seem connected.

Sexual + Hormonal Health

Changes in libido, sexual satisfaction or performance, hot flashes, night sweats, menstrual changes, perimenopause, menopause, erectile changes, or testosterone-related concerns.

Sleep + Mood

Difficulty sleeping, needing more sleep than usual, anxiety, irritability, mood changes, feeling down, or a loss of motivation.

Metabolism + Whole-Body Symptoms

Hair changes, feeling unusually cold, skin changes, headaches or migraines, joint or muscle discomfort, thyroid-related concerns, or simply feeling like your body is working differently than it used to.

Focus + Memory

Brain fog, difficulty concentrating, memory changes, trouble finding the right words, or feeling mentally slower than usual.

Personalized Hormone, Thyroid & Wellness Care

Your care should reflect your symptoms, history, labs, goals, and stage of life. Charissa offers several ways to begin depending on what you are experiencing and how comprehensive an evaluation you need.

Primary Service

Hormone Replacement Therapy + TRT

Hormone replacement therapy is not simply about estrogen — and it is not limited to one stage of life. Charissa provides personalized hormone evaluation and treatment for women and men, including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy and testosterone support when clinically appropriate.

Care may involve evaluating multiple hormones and considering the broader factors contributing to symptoms rather than assuming every patient needs the same treatment.

May include concerns related to:
• Menopause • Testosterone • Libido • Energy • Sleep • Mood • Weight • Strength • Sexual health

Thyroid-Focused Care

Thyroid concerns can affect energy, metabolism, temperature regulation, mood, cognition, hair, skin, weight, and overall well-being. Thyroid-focused care takes a deeper look at symptoms, medical history, previous testing, and relevant lab work to better understand what may be contributing to the way you feel.

This may be particularly appropriate for patients who want a more focused evaluation without beginning with a full hormone workup.

Wellness Consultations

Sometimes the right place to start is broader than HRT.

Wellness consultations allow Charissa to evaluate symptoms, labs, possible deficiencies, hormone function, medications, lifestyle factors, and overall wellness.

When appropriate, recommendations may include supplements, prescription treatment, additional testing, or other next steps.

01

I listen.

Your experience matters. Labs are important, but a lab value does not tell your entire story.

02

I believe you.

You shouldn’t have to convince someone that you don’t feel like yourself before your concerns are taken seriously.

03

We look at the whole picture.

Symptoms, medical history, labs, medications, hormone function, potential deficiencies, lifestyle, concerns, and goals are considered together.

04

We build the plan together.

Good care should be collaborative. You should understand what we are evaluating, why a recommendation is being made, and what your options are.

05

We adjust when needed.

There is no universal hormone protocol that works for every person. If something isn’t working, we reassess, adjust, and determine the appropriate next step.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF CARE

Care Built Around
Your Whole Story

Offering hormone therapy isn’t what makes Charissa Lowe Wellness different. The difference is how care begins — and how the plan develops from there.

THE GATHER PHILOSOPHY

Gather the Whole Picture

Before we draw conclusions, we gather the pieces.

Your symptoms.

Your history.

Your labs.

Your concerns.

Your goals.

Your hope.

Then we build the plan.

A result that falls within a standard reference range does not always explain why someone still feels unwell.

Charissa’s approach considers the numbers alongside the person behind them, because understanding your health requires more than treating one symptom or looking at one lab value in isolation.

ABOUT CHARISSA

Meet Charissa Lowe, NP-BC

"I believe people deserve to feel heard when they know something isn’t right."

Charissa K. Lowe, NP-BC, is a South Carolina nurse practitioner with more than 25 years of healthcare experience. Her career has included nursing and advanced-practice roles at several major teaching hospitals along the East Coast, including Yale University Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, the Medical University of South Carolina, and Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.

Experience Grounded in Patient Care

Charissa earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina, in 2001. She later earned her master’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina in 2011 and became an acute care nurse practitioner.

She spent much of her career working in acute and surgical care before transitioning toward a more integrative approach to patient wellness. After watching patients and families struggle to find answers within the traditional healthcare system, Charissa felt called to approach care differently.

A More Personal Approach to Hormone and Wellness Care

Today, Charissa provides personalized hormone replacement therapy, bioidentical hormone consultations, thyroid-focused care, and wellness consultations for women and men in South Carolina.

Her approach looks beyond isolated symptoms or a single laboratory value. She takes time to understand each patient’s symptoms, history, lab results, concerns, and goals while exploring potential underlying factors that may be affecting how they feel.

Charissa is passionate about helping people take a more active role in their wellness through clear education, practical recommendations, and individualized care. She believes patients deserve to feel heard, understand their options, and participate in building a plan that reflects their needs.

Beyond the Practice

When she is not caring for patients, Charissa is a wife to Rick and a mother of four. Their family lives on a small homestead in Gilbert, South Carolina, where she enjoys homeschooling her children, spending time with her family, and studying God’s Word.

LABS + TESTING

Lab Work that Supports the Bigger Picture

Lab work is an important part of hormone and thyroid evaluation, but it is not the only part.

Charissa uses relevant testing alongside your symptoms, medical history, concerns, and goals to develop a clearer understanding of your health.

Where can I have my labs drawn?

Lab orders can typically be sent to a local outpatient laboratory such as Labcorp, Quest, or another appropriate location based on your insurance network and availability.

Can I use insurance for my labs?

In many cases, patients may use their health insurance benefits for laboratory testing even though Charissa Lowe Wellness itself operates as a self-pay practice.

Charissa has helped me more than any other healthcare provider. When I came to her two years ago, I had no idea how run down I had become. I had constant, disabling brain fog, poor sleep quality, and no energy. Within a month- or less- I could feel and SEE the difference in myself! I felt so much more capable again! Brain fog was GONE! My sleeping greatly improved and I no longer needed naps! Charissa now sees many of my adult children and my husband. I love that she teaches you what is going on in your body and how to address it. She never scoffs at my natural approaches or preferences- and she actually listens! It’s a breath of fresh air in health care. I love having a health care provider I can finally TRUST!

— Jessica Dickens

Charissa takes her time to make me feel heard, validated, and comfortable discussing my hormone health. She provided a tailored approach and care plan to get me back to my pre-menopause self. The results speak for themselves, brain fog is gone, energy up, libido up, I feel like me again! If you are looking for a practitioner who will offer you a tailored approach instead of cookie cutter health care, look no further and choose Charissa.

Feeling Heard?

You don’t have to know exactly what is wrong before reaching out.

If you know you don’t feel like yourself — or you have questions about hormones, thyroid health, energy, mood, weight, sleep, libido, or other changes — that is enough of a place to begin.

Tell Charissa what you’ve been experiencing, and we’ll help determine the appropriate next step.
